The Plastic Free July Illustrations

I have been living plastic free for about 5 years now. It's been an ongoing struggle to find solutions but has been extremely rewarding. I am now much more connected with the seasons and the different foods available, more independent from large corporations, gotten my sense of smell back, and perhaps best of all- learned how to be organized. Living without convenience plastic requires a lot of organization and planning ahead, this has helped me immensely in organizing my personal goals around art and develop an independent, creative career.   

This series was done using both digital and traditional techniques. The illustrations were done from still lifes of my own items using ink. I then brought the scanned illustrations into procreate to color and design them digitally. This series showcases the tools for a few key areas of plastic free living.
