One Wednesday when I was at Drawnk (weekly drink and draw) I met an awesome colored pencil artist, who I'll edit in here once I get back home and find his name. (I don't have internet or a computer at my place so it would postpone this post even more days than previously postponed) Anyways, he had some sketches in a grey toned sketchbook and thus my mind was blown. Bland whites and pastels popped out with a vibrancy I've never seen! Basically, I was super amazed I've never thought of colored paper, and by his superior skillz. I'll link to his works soon.
I promptly went out and got a gray toned sketchbook with a giftcard I had to Artist and Craftsman, YAY Christmas! So I've been playing with that as of recent. A huge pro is I can measure out with white and not have to erase, causing dark marks and wasting a lot of time. So it's faster and looks better. Wonders of wonders! In my painting class, I'm working on glass, hence the glass bottle attempt. Not great, but ok as a first try. And of course the Mucha copy, the hair took about 5 hours alone, eep! All in all, I really dig this paper.
