Yes the title is correct! I will be displaying my women collage series at Ok Hotel in downtown Seattle for the Pioneer Square artwalk this thursday. It's in the basement of what I guess is an art collective. I have never been, so am really excited to check it out! I got this gig through craigslist, they had some blank walls they needed to fill last minute- so lucky me :) The show is at 212 Alaskan Way S, Seattle, WA from 6-9pm. FREE!!! Below is one of the pieces from the series.
These past 4 months have been mostly dedicated to a series I call, Psychedelic Symmetry. A colored pencil series of 12 pieces, the majority of them quite large, 40''x30''. Thus they take a bit of time. But I finished today and so I can finally clean my apartment :) The picture to the left is one of them, this one took about a week to do, mind you I work in 6-8 hour coloring sessions. The design maybe took an hour to draw out in total. Now I just have to figure out how to hang these on a wall for an exhibit. . . ie!
I don't know what's up with the title colors :( But anyways. . .
A drawing I did not too long ago to take a break from the series I've been working on. Bodies are not my forte, in fact they're a weakness, which is also why I did this drawing. Regardless, it turned out decently. But also reiterates I need to get myself into some figure drawing sessions! This is on 20"x30" illustration board using colored pencils, graphite, and gesso! Yep, I actually painted the white part white.
These are a few of my prints of the first of many (hopefully) band poster designs. Screen printing is a relatively new skill for me but clearly has a lot of potential. Took me a few tries to get the design printed on the screen, the studio I work at doesn't have the most efficient of equipment. But for $25 a month, who cares! Most prints were done on a poster size cardstock, but I also did a few on newsprint.
